In the cold-damage (Shanghan) tradition, Shaoyang disease (少阳病) is the six-meridian (liu jing) disease-category whose outline pattern (提纲证, Song art. 263) is a bitter taste in the mouth, a dry throat, and dizziness. It denotes the traditional 'half-exterior, half-interior' stage between the yang and yin stages. A historical pattern-category for reference, not a contemporary diagnostic or treatment guide.
