In the cold-damage (Shanghan) tradition, Shaoyin disease (少阴病) is a three-yin six-meridian (liu jing) disease-category whose outline pattern (提纲证, Song art. 281) is a faint, thready pulse with a constant desire to sleep. It denotes a deep stage traditionally linked to deficiency of the heart and kidney. A historical pattern-category for reference, not a contemporary diagnostic or treatment guide.
