Five deficiencies

In Chinese medicine, the five deficiency signs marking a critical depleted pattern. The Neijing lists them as a faint pulse, cold skin, shortage of qi, incontinent diarrhoea, and inability to take food and drink (此謂五虛). Together they indicate a severe deficiency state and, in the classical account, a grave prognosis.
