鼠曲草甘，平，无毒。化痰止咳、祛风、调中，治寒嗽痰多、风寒咳逆、痹痛。《别录》载鼠耳主痹寒寒热、止咳，《日华》载调中益气、止泄除痰、压时气、去热嗽，李杲谓治寒嗽及痰、除肺中寒，即清明菜。
